A walk through the old quarter
There is a particular rhythm to a street built for walking. The shop windows are close enough to study, doorways make small pauses in the facades, and each corner offers another view. On a quiet morning, these details are easier to see.
We followed the narrow lanes away from the central square and found a courtyard framed by brick walls. A few bicycles leaned against the railing. Nothing demanded attention, which made the place feel especially welcoming.
Field notes / Landscapes
At the edge of the forest
The best part of a short journey can be the place where you stop. A path turns, the trees thin out, and suddenly the horizon opens. From there the landscape is a sequence of fields, hedges, and distant hills.
Bring a notebook, leave room for a slower return, and pay attention to the changes in light. Familiar paths rarely look quite the same twice. A little patience is often all that is needed to see something new.
